Well I was very excited about Crufts this year, as I was very much looking forward to seeing the two Bauer kids, Striker and Sybil, whom as any of you know I have been exhausting myself travelling around the country to prepare their coats for the famous green carpets of crufts. Also my dear friend Krystal Mason (who forced me to become a groomer) was flying in from USA with her friend Lisa Sarvas. Lisa was handling last years BOB Sweet Schnauzers Gladiator (Blue) and Krystal was handling Sybil. It was so good to meet them both and they are such experienced professional groomers and handlers it was an amazing opportunity to work alongside them and learn new approaches and ideas to grooming the Miniature Schnauzer. OK so the results went very well! First up in Puppy Dog Class was the ever so handsome Ruddlands Strike Back! Striker is named after a TV show I’ve never seen but his owner is always watching. He was against some nice young promising males and we were nervous as Striker had only been to one show before, where he truly showed up Joanne, but still won. So she’d been doing loads of work teaching him how not to forget how to walk, but was still having nightmares he’d plant himself on the day. But he thankfully didn’t and showed like a pro and gained a respectable 2nd place. Then we had a long wait before starting to finish Sybil’s groom for her class. Krystal decided last minute that the judge was going for dogs up on leg, so we decided to cut her leg hair down and make her legs look longer, a mad rush and it worked, she won her huge strong class!! She showed so well for her new very talented handler and Chris her breeder owner was staggering around crying and unable to speak. Such a precious moment. So I came away from Crufts happy and with so much shopping, consisting of dog stuff, you know the stuff we love spending our money on, new toys, treats, coats for my dogs, new products for your dogs and upgrades on salon equipment like dryers etc. Comments are closed.
